We are pleased to launch our 2019 Regional Seminar Schedule.  

We will be hosting 7 regional seminars/networking meetings hosted at local authorities around the country focusing on key rural topics including Rural Housing, Rural Economy and Health and Wellbeing.

These events are free to RSN paying members and this includes RHCA members.

On Wednesday, Brian Wilson will represent RSN at the Rural Coalition meeting. The Rural Coalition brings together 12 national organisations who subscribe to a vision for a living and working countryside in England.
 

Monday saw the second of our Regional Seminars in the West Midlands which took place thanks to our kind hosts Stafford Borough Council.  It focused on the Rural Economy and some lively debate took place!

We are now looking forward to our next Regional Seminar which will be held in the South West on the 21st of March and is kindly hosted by East Devon District Council.This seminar will feature on ‘Rural Housing’ and further details which includes how to book onto the event can be found here
 

New research has been launched in the Observatory section of the RSN website. This latest analysis presents data from the Department for Transport showing the frequency with which residents do any walking or cycling for a chosen local authority, and whether it is for leisure or travel. The local authority position is compared to class and classification averages. Access this research here

There's a new podcast available from Carole Walker. 

This episode, is titled 'The Brexit vote in rural communities' and features George Freeman, MP for Mid-Norfolk and a former minister, who details why so many people in rural communities voted for Brexit and are in despair at the endless bickering over the decision to leave the EU
